Standard & metric O-rings

A circular cross-section for static and selected dynamic sealing. Specify the size, compound and operating conditions.

Standard O-rings. Metric dimensions.

An O-ring has a circular cross-section. Its size is defined by inside diameter (ID) and cross-section (CS), with material and hardness specified separately.

Material families in the product brief

CR (neoprene), VMQ (silicone), NBR (nitrile), HNBR and FKM. Use the material selection guide to understand the differences; final compound and availability depend on the requirement.

Standard sizes

Provide the complete AS568, JIS B 2401, ISO 3601 or drawing reference. Include dimensions and tolerances when working from a legacy British or DIN designation.

Metric O-rings

For a metric requirement, specify ID × CS in millimetres. A metric size is not automatically an interchangeable substitute for an inch-series ring.
